Idea

The creation of intricate, algorithmically designed polymer walls that are a seamless combination of structure and ornament.

The polymer walls wrap internal spaces within RMIT’s school of design at the recently renovated Brunswick Campus.

Solution

The polymer walls where robotically 3D printed in extruded PETG.  The seamless aesthetic has been achieved by ‘welding’ printed modules together vertically to form full height vertical panels.  The full height panels then secretly connecting along vertical seams, creating contiguous wall segments.
