Idea
New York based Architectural firm KPF had conceptualised the lobby and internal lift core of 10 Hudson to be metallic and monolithic, as if it had been crafted from a solid metal block.
Solution
The texture that was developed for this project sort to enhancing the naturally occurring surface imperfections associated with cast metal. Ten different full-size patterns were created to minimise any visual repetition.
Each panel was then formed in 8mm ( 5/16 “ ) thick cast aluminium, hand finished and sealed with microcrystalline wax.
